The Colorworks Story

In 1923, Raymond Smale Sr. began Office Service Company in Pottstown, PA selling office machines and business supplies. Years later, the company evolved and changed its name to Risson Press (Raymond I Smale & Son), and began printing custom business forms for local manufacturers.

In 1987, Desktop Publishing technology was having an impact on the printing industry. Seeing an opportunity in the marketplace, Ray Jr.‘s son Donald and his wife Brandy launched a sideline venture called Desktop Technologies.

By the early 1990’s, Desktop Publishing blossomed and forever changed the way the prepress function was performed. Desktop Technologies and Risson Press responded by merging operations and aggressively adding capabilities. The name of the combined business venture was changed to Colorworks Graphic Services.

Today, Colorworks functions as a trusted marketing service provider for many corporate and local marketing departments.

Quote below from CertaPro:

“CertaPro Painters and Home For Our Troops (HFOT) is extremely thankful for your generosity as a sponsor for our 2nd Homes For Our Troops 5K/10K fun run.

Your sponsorship has helped contribute to build a brand new specially adapted home for our 3 wounded Veterans, and we cannot thank you enough! Even though it rained we still had a couple hundred people come out. We placed a flyer in all the bags (which were fabulous by the way) and put the Color Works logo on all of our t-shirts.

We are all very appreciative of everything that you have done to support us and the troops.

Sincerely, Yasi “
