The Colorworks Story
In 1923, Raymond Smale Sr. began Office Service Company in Pottstown, PA selling office machines and business supplies.
Years later, the company evolved and changed its name to Risson Press (Raymond I Smale & Son), and began printing custom business forms for local manufacturers.
In 1987, Desktop Publishing technology was having an impact on the printing industry. Seeing an opportunity in the marketplace, Ray Jr.‘s son Donald and his wife Brandy launched a sideline venture called Desktop Technologies.
By the early 1990’s, Desktop Publishing blossomed and forever changed the way the prepress function was performed. Desktop Technologies and Risson Press responded by merging operations and aggressively adding capabilities. The name of the combined business venture was changed to Colorworks Graphic Services.
Today, Colorworks functions as a trusted marketing service provider for many corporate and local marketing departments.
